SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL
THE TRUE STORY OF THE PROCESS CHURCH OF THE FINAL JUDGMENT
Dir. NEIL EDWARDS, 2015.
Feature-length documentary inspired by the books ‘Love, Sex, Fear, Death – The Inside Story of The Process Church of the Final Judgment’ by Timothy Wyllie; and ‘Xtul – An Experience of The Process’ by Sabrina Verney.
Who were the so-called "black-caped, black-garbed, death-worshipping Process Church of the Final Judgment"? This new feature-length documentary gets behind the veils of the mysterious cult that preached a unity between Christ and Satan. It tracks their journey from their formation in London’s prestigious Mayfair district, through extreme wilderness experiences in Mexico, flirtations with pop royalty, and their spread through North America that resulted in them being ‘christened’ ‘One of the most dangerous satanic cults in America’. With contributions from several leading former members of the cult, and insights from musical legend George Clinton (who included Process writings on two of his seminal Funkadelic albums). Plus artist and innovator Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, and renowned authors Gary Lachman, Robert Irwin, Gaia Servadio (who infiltrated the group in 1966), and Manson biographer Simon Wells.

Featuring the music of Funkadelic and electronic sounds by Nicholas Bullen.
